A holiday-themed horror adventure game for PC
TORNUKTU is a free adventure title made by indie developer Jonny's Games for PC. Played in a first-person perspective, it's a horror game that incorporates a Christmas holiday theme. In it, players will experience strange events as they read a folklore book one deep winter night.
Similar to Deep City or Symphony of Seven Souls, TORNUKTU is a game inspired by the classic PS1 horror titles. As such, it features the characteristic low poly graphics to go with its eerie and atmospheric presentation that will provide a good fright this holiday season.
What is the game about?
The game starts during one winter night as your character is having difficulty falling asleep and is feeling restless. With your mom in deep slumber, you go to your living room and find a mysterious old book that you got from the town bookstore earlier that day. With nothing else to do, you decide to read it and know what its story is all about.
The book tells the tale of one old Alaskan folklore about an evil creature known as the TORNUKTU. Its physical form is described to be part-man and part-reindeer, with black fur and glowing eyes. You begin to hear strange noises coming from all over the house. You slowly realize that the things you're reading are reflecting and transpiring in real life as you turn each page of the book.
The game captures the essence of classic PS1-style horror games really well. The low-poly graphics and great sound effects all contribute to the scary and foreboding feeling that it tries to project onto players. It does have a short playthrough that ends rather abruptly. Depending on how you play, it can be finished in under 10 minutes. It's a quick horror adventure, that's for sure.

There's something about horror games and the holidays that just work well together. It's no wonder then that a lot of players are interested in this unique sub-genre, and TORNUKTU is a nice, albeit short, example of one, with the look and feel of classic PS1 horror titles.
